MSc in Architecture Niklas Mahlberg has been appointed as CEO of Architects Davidsson Tarkela (aDT) as of September 2020. He previously served as Deputy CEO from March 2020. The previous CEO Aki Davidsson will continue as Chairman of the Board.
Niklas has strong expertise in architectural design of public buildings. During 2005–2020 he worked as a head designer at ALA Architects. His most significant recent works include Helsinki Central Library Oodi and metro stations of Keilaniemi and Aalto University.
In his new position, Niklas wants to develop further aDT’s expertise in public buildings and renovation of challenging historical buildings. Parallel to these two corner stones, expertise on circular economy, which will be more strongly linked to all construction in the future, will also be developed.
Niklas attaches importance to strengthening participatory working culture and developing creativity.
– Of course, we want to be an attractive place to work. We are also aiming for moderate growth in the number of employees. Additionally, the goal is to participate more in architectural competitions. Succeeding in competitions provides not only visibility but also an opportunity to further strengthen the company’s profile as a diverse high-quality office.
In Niklas’ view, the cooperation with other Solwers companies brings many possibilities, for example better listening to the market. Working together with experts in the “same” company makes it easier to offer broader service packages for customers.
